WHAT IF WE KISSED (excerpt)

Are you my partner in poetry
that I write about in my diary?
I awake at daybreak
to dedicate my morning journaling
to your creativity then,
I write a few more pages
on how the love making might be,
this can't be healthy.
By midday
I can't wait to masturbate
so I have a reason to scream out your name.
I'm starting to feel ashamed by dusk,
because I've thought about
you entirely too much.
3 AM thoughts of you still got me up,
I'm exhausted by a never ending
self interrogation . . .
Should I ask him on a date?
Could he be my soul mate?
Is he romantic?
Can he be tantric?
Does he like to smoke cannibus?
Could we do it outside like exhibitionists?
I'm not even close to the end of the list,
but you get the gist,
What if we kissed?
Dismiss all out side influences
and like Nike says "Just do it!"
Act animalistic!
It may not seem realistic,
but try to picture it.
"We are siamese if you please"
Because when that moment hits
we'll attach at the lips
like siamese twins, only able
to survive off one another’s breath,
to surgically separate our kiss
would be to great a risk
for one or both of us could die.
Yet we contrive this hypocritical
sanctimonious shy vibe,
as if we both haven't
conceptualized and fantasized
what it would be like,
if we kissed.
I tried to pretend
this attraction doesn't
transcend to our past lives
but how do I deny full
conversations with just our eyes.
No need to verbalize.
We have a psychic connection,
we touch all the time,
not with our hands
we use our extrasensory perception.
So once again I throw
temptation in your direction
as I ask this question,
What if we kissed?
